The Nitty Gritty
Vision.
It is something that every person, business or religious organization needs. It is something that everyone needs. Vision is something that leads to:
1) Direction
2) How you work
3) What you offer
4) Your drive
5) Ability to bring others along
Vision is crucially essential to any growth of any group of people. Whether it is the business world, church world, personal world, family life, vision is something that constantly drives us further along in our journey.
Granted, the vision that we may dream, could bring us to where we want to be, or some vision could bring us back a few steps. Vision has the ability to hoist something up or let something fall. When you determine, plan, communicate and execute a well developed vision the possibility of where that vision will take you is endless. When you determine a vision and pull the trigger too quickly, it can bring you to a place that you dont want to be. It can lead to people leaving, numbers dropping and culture destroying.
Maybe I am off on what vision can lead to, but here is the thing that I am beginning to learn very quickly:
Vision = Change
The hard part about that equation is that change is hard. Change is a difficult piece of anyone’s life. Change is not something that can be grasped easily, nor can the past be forgotten easily. Whether the vision is planned to take in a new direction or a different approach to what you are already doing, change is inevitable.
So here is my question:
How do you develop and lead through Vision?
I am contemplating and researching this question and to be honest with you, I dont know if there is a right or wrong way. But what I do know, is that I am not the best at it. I love the big picture and the dreaming up vision side of ministry, but when it comes down to it, the nitty gritty or the nuts and bolts of vision and vision casting is way out in front of me.
How do you lead through Vision?
How do you communicate and execute the Vision you feel God has put on your heart?
