Throughout the year I have……..
Have you ever stopped to think about what you have done in a year? Maybe not the small things like I have ate breakfast 197 time, or I have made lunches 197 times. But what about the stuff that you have accomplished?
It is weird, as I read through the book of Genesis, it seems like there is an update every other chapter or so about what someone has done in their life, or what they own, or where they have traveled. It is actually kind of cool when you think about it, because it shows that even though we may feel busy today, we can see that every one in mankind’s history has been busy.
So in the spirit of updating, throughout the year I have:
I got married, moved half way across the country twice, bought a new car, moved into my first apartment with Amanda, got a new job, gone to Wrigley Field, went to Medieval Times in Chicago, helped move my little sister into college, began a journey of growth, was apart of a best friend’s wedding, learned more about friendship than I ever thought I would, learned what it means to pay for bills, flew to Atlanta(and stayed there), ate at the Varsity, watched a dear friend have to navigate the waters of leukemia, found out my mother got a tattoo before me, learned what it means to love, how much I love preaching week in and week out, had my parents help move Amanda and I to The Region, graduated from LCU as the first class of LCU, learned what it means to be in charge of a ministry, learned how much God needs to be in every decision of our lives, how to help friends get through hard times, connections last a whole lot longer than you would ever expect, became addicted to caffeine in particular coffee from Starbucks or DD.
I don’t know about you but when I think about where I have been in the last year, it makes me think about how blessed we can be in our lives.
So I leave it to you:
Throughout the year I have ___________________________

You have done a lot man.
I honestly cannot remember much. But this would be a great exercise to do.
But it is crazy to think that you probably wont do that much ever again in one year (Graduate, get married, start a new job, etc…) that is pretty cool.
Ya man, it has been a pretty crazy year. You have done a lot also. Traveled a bunch, met some new friends, made some progress on life long success. You have had just as much of an awesome year!
Thanks for taking the time to write back.
