Proverbs 6:16-19

“There are six things that the Lord hates. seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, an hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.”

What are you struggling with? Are you living in the shadows of any of these things that God hates?

When I think about my life, where I am, where I have been, where I am going, I can see some of these things weave their ways in and out of the story. I really dont know if that settles well in my stomach. I think there is something about this list that can open out eyes to how we live out our lives.

Where do you need help? Where do you need encouragment?

This path of life is much easier to accomplish with friends. Last night I was privileged with preaching about the process of going through life not alone, and how we need to find people that we can go through life with. We talked about the song Jeremy, by Pearl Jam and the song talks about how the pressure to fit in and feel accepted is so huge in life that when you dont get it, you want to just crack.

I have been blessed in my life with friends, that no matter what is going on I can turn to them and laugh, cry, get wisdom, or just hang out. I think the feeling of rejection leads to the feeling of being alone, and that feeling of being alone is a scary feeling. I would have to say that even though I am married, I will never be alone in my life.

There are two things that I wanted the students to remember, the first being that SLW is a place of acceptance. A place where we follow the two greatest commandments by Loving God first and Loving People second.

The Second being that God is always on our side and always with us. I remember when I used to think that I could sneak away and nobody would know what I was doing. I would go to a party and blend in like I wasn’t even there. That is not possible. God is with us everywhere we go.

Joshua 1:7-9

“Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

How many times a day can we forget that we have a God that is everlasting, all mighty, all knowing and all seeing?

I do.

God is everywhere, He loves us, He is jealous for us, He wants us to live the right life.

What are you doing to live the right way?
