God in the Trunk.

There has been a common and growing trend that has been ringing in my ears. More and more and more I am hearing this idea that I can say that I am doing better at.

Are you filling your life with the right stuff?

What are you listening to? Watching? Reading?

Matthew 6:21: ” For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”

How many times do think about this?

What are you filling your heart up with? Is it the right stuff? Is it the right treasure?

Matthew 6:20: “but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.”

What are your treasures?

My wife, sports, the red sox in particular, my job, preaching. These are some of my treasures.

Above all else, I am striving to make God and his Word the overall treasure in my life. But it’s hard. As humans, we find very stupid excuses to leave God in the rear view mirror.

Figure out your treasure and work at making sure Jesus Christ is in the Front window of your life and not the trunk.

I am not saying that I am good at this. I fall short all the time and I put God in the trunk.  But lets not say the phrase  ”junk in the trunk” and know that God could be the one in the trunk. God isn’t junk, obviously.
